Is there one food you shouldn't eat?

Natural foods, such as nuts, berries, vegetables, are healthy for us. Some foods fall into a category of more-or-less healthy for us. Everyone needs to decide for themselves which foods to eat in small quantities or on special occasions. Likewise, everyone needs to decide for themselves based on their situations, beliefs, and health background what to include on a ‘never eat’ list – whether that will be a few items, many items or none.

I am proposing one ‘never eat’ to consider – artificial sweeteners. This is coming from someone that used to drink large volumes of Diet Coke, so no judgements. One of the problems with artificial sweeteners is they are so sweet. Aspartame is 200 times sweeter than table sugar. Artificial sweeteners make us crave them as well as other sweet things. They mess up our taste buds and appetite. Artificial sweeteners have been linked to obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and mood disorders.

How can we get to or maintain our natural appetite and metabolism while consuming something so unnatural?

I know it's very hard for people to stop drinking diet sodas. I am one of those people who really like diet Dr Pepper. Lately, I've been trying to drink more water which is a better option overall. Grant it...not an exciting one...but the best one.

Water is hard for me too. Some people say it doesn't have any taste, but it is a little bitter to me. I drink the water with essence flavor at home. The can says what fruit flavor they are, but the flavor is so light I can't tell the difference. I am cheap enough that the free part at restaurants helps it be a choice I have started to make.

Thank you for reading and sharing. I have to confess that I started the blog so my website would come up higher on searches. Now I am realizing the exchange of information in the comments especially is more important than where I show up on a search.
